The OHSU Tinnitus Clinic was the first medical clinic in the world established exclusively for the treatment of tinnitus. Since its founding in 1974 by Dr. Jack Vernon and Dr. Alexander Schleuning, the clinic has successfully treated more than 7,000 patients with severe tinnitus. The clinic also treats patients with hyperacusis (hypersensitivity to sounds).

Christine M. Hoffman, M.S., CCC/A. is the director of audiology and rehabilitation at the Ear Specialty Group. The facility has Neurotologists and Audiologists and a referral network which includes mental health, nutrition, dental and other medal/allied health professionals.
Their Tinnitus/Hyperacusis Management Program includes an in-depth medical and audiological evaluation, including the Habituation Therapy (Tinnitus Retraining Therapy). The staff received training from the University of Maryland by Dr. Jastreboff.

Their basic approach is to evaluate the tinnitus sufferer medically, otologically, audiologically, and psychosocially to establish a "Tinnitus Patient Profile," which is then used as a basis for designing an individually tailored treatment program selected from a menu of available options. The menu includes masking and auditory habituation as well as several complementary approaches such as hypnosis, cognitive therapy, biofeedback, relaxation methodology, pharmacologic management, and similar techniques and procedures.
Sonus Center for Tinnitus
This Center, located in San Diego, California, provides all audiological therapies for tinnitus and hyperacusis. Particular emphasis is placed upon tinnitus retraining therapy (habituation therapy) for tinnitus and hyperacusis. A low cost variation of this latter treatment is available. The staff has been trained by Dr. Pawel Jastreboff, and the senior audiologist is a member of the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy Association.
