of the Shea property at Bolsa Chica. From these views it is clear that

February 4, 2001 - Greater Bolsa Chica (lower right) and the surrounding region. A natural oasis surrounded by suburbia.
October 16, 2000 - the mesa (foreground) and the Shea property (background).
June 13, 2000 - the eastern edge of the Shea property meets Graham Street.
Based on neighborhood rooftop remodelling activity, this aerial image was taken no earlier than late 1999.
This aerial view that shows how this property (upper right) fits into the
Greater Bolsa Chica ecosystem. This image dates from 1998, and based
on the examination of Edison generating plant smokestack shadows in another
image in the same database, was probably taken in June or July between noon
and 2 PM.
The aerial view contained in the 1997 EIR.
These images were scanned from paper photographs courtesy of Jennifer
Thomas and were shot from a helicopter taking aerial photographs of the Cabo
del Mar development.
This first image is looking east and shows the Parkside property on
the right. There is grading in progress for the Ralphs/Longs shopping
center on the left side of the image which can be used to date these photographs.
This Ralphs store opened in 1994, and the Longs store opened in 1995,
so these pictures were likely taken no later than 1994 or perhaps 1993.
This next image shows the fallow land revegetating, with large shrubs in evidence.
The last image features the knoll area opposite the small bridge over
the Wintersburg Channel adjacent to the Slater Pump Station outflow. Notice
how the knoll appears more prominent than today; it is difficult to tell
from this image whether the knoll is actually bigger, or merely has a ring
of dirt piled around it making it only seem bigger.
